"Lackey room" – is a performance of student Gregory Dobrygin (workshop of Oleg Kudryashov) transferred to rehearsal hall number 2 in The Mayakovsky Theatre. It was put on a short play by Nikolay Gogol from the "Vladimir III" cyclus, which was conceived as a picture of "different backgrounds and areas of Russian society."
"Lackey room" - is Gogol which is created with modern facilities, a classic thing, which is told by today's young people. The performance is inventive, full of theatrical wonders. This is a playful young theater. The action takes place in the wardrobe, which becomes a reason for the game, he seemed like a Chichikov`s casket. The wardrobe sleeps, lives, weave a plot. Here the world is a wardrobe and the people are lackeys.
The last act consists of documentary monologues of today`s lackey people "of the public service sector" - drivers, waiters, security guards, cleaners. Gogol became an occasion to reflect on the people who come after a call bell.
The premiere took place on 24 November 2013.
Performance lasts 1 hour 10 minutes.
