Igor Kashintsev was born on June 17, 1932 in Moscow.
In 1955 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School (A.Karev`s course).
In 1955-1961 he worked at the Central Theater of the Soviet Army, from 1961 to 1965 he was an actor of the Theatre of Soviet troops in East Germany, then worked at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya (1965-1975), the New Drama Theatre (1975-1988), the Satire Theater (1989-1991), Moscow Art Theatre (1991-1992).
Since 1993 Igor Kashintsev has been working at Mayakovsky Theatre.
As a narrator he performed at Moscow Philharmonic.
Since the 1980s he has written scripts for amateur concert parties, poems, mostly satirical pieces. He has released many audio CDs, including the collection of Russian folk tales ‘The Three Bears’.

Kashintsev made his debut in Soviet cinema with a cameo role in M.Khutsiev`s melodrama ‘July rain.’ Since then he played in more than 120 films, created remarkable secondary characters of swindlers, bureaucrats and adventurers in such films as ‘The Golden Calf’, ‘The investigation held by experts', 'This fun planet’, ‘The Black Prince’, ‘Escape of Mr. McKinley,’ ‘Pirates of the XXth century, ‘Flying squadron of hussars,’ ‘Dead Souls’ ‘The Visit’, ‘Crash of Operation Terror ‘,’ Let sleeping dogs lie ‘and others. He also played films ‘Lynx comes out on the trail,’ ‘Lost Elephant’, ‘The Adventures of Science’. Recently he has participated in ‘Kings of Russian spying’, ‘Turetsky`s March’, ‘Detectives-3’, ‘Three of the top’, ‘Village’, ‘Ultimate Wish’, ‘Mirage’. We should also mention Kashintsev`s work in a newsreel ‘Fitil’, where he created a number of dodgers and bureaucrats.
