Portnov

Vladimir Portnov was born on August 29, 1940. He played more than 100 roles in theater and about 30 roles in films and on television.

At Kirov Drama Theatre he staged performances ‘Outlander’ by I. Dvoretsky (1974), ‘Last summer in Chulimsk’ by A.Vampilov (1974), at Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theater named after V. Katchalov - ‘Farewell’ by I.Dvoretsky (1976), ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ (1976), ‘Black-and-white TV’, ‘Cylinder’ by E. De Filippo (1977). In the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya has staged the following performances: ‘Married For the Fiirst Time’ by P. Nilin (1979), ‘Go and do not come back’ by V. Bykov (1980), ‘Mother of Jesus’ by A. Volodin (1989), ‘Walpurgis Night or The Steps of The Commander' by V. Erofeev (1989),’ Moscow-Petushki' by V.Erofeev (1991). At Moscow Academic Stanislavsky Theatre he staged ‘Threshold’ by A. Dudarev (1988), ‘Business’ by A. Sukhovo-Kobylin (1988), ‘Women's Desk at the Hunting Hall’ by V.Merezhko (1989), ‘Guests’ by M. Gorky (1989). He lived in Israel, where he staged a ‘Showman’ (1993), ‘Contract’ by S.Mrozhek (1994), ‘Momik’ by D.Grossman (1994) in the Gesher Theater, ‘Mutants’ by S.Zlotnikov (1992) at the National Theatre of Israel ‘Habima’, ‘Madmen For You’ and ‘Triptych for two’ by S. Zlotnikov (1993) at the Semyon Zlotnikov Theatre ‘Noah's Ark’, Jerusalem. Among other productions are ‘The Lower Depths' by Maxim Gorky (Theatre 'Na Pokrovke', 2005), 'Ex Sisters’ by A.Vasilev (Krasnoyarsk Pushkin Drama Theatre, 2006), ‘Enough Stupidity in Every Wise Man’ by A. Ostrovsky (Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Drama Theatre named after M. Gorky, 2007), ‘Three’ by Maxim Gorky (Russian Volkov Academic Drama Theatre), ‘To be or not to be’ by U.Gibsona (Krasnodar Drama Theatre. 2011).

At Mayakovsky Theater Vladimir staged performance ‘She, in the absence of love and death’ by E. Radzinsky (1980), ‘I am standing by the restaurant’ by E. Radzinsky (1987), ‘Old Fashioned Comedy’ by A. Arbuzov (2004).
